I'm happy to report a positive outcome of my sabbatical year (which is starting to wind down). I've secured a publication contract for my book Readying the Revolution: African American Theater and Performance from post-World War II to the Black Arts Movement with University of Michigan Press. This is a well regarded publisher in theater and performance (particularly African American theater), so I'm very pleased with this result. University of Michigan is also my alma mater. Go Blue!
As I write this in late May, my manuscript is almost complete and will be submitted to the Press soon. The book will then go through peer review and then back to me for revisions and preparation of the final manuscript. It's a slow process. Stay tuned!
